I've noticed a huge increase in hacking, exploits, fraud related posts in this sub-reddit and this alone tells a lot about the crypto industry landscape.
With the growing rumors of incoming bull-market, security incidents have also increased enormously. Just consider the last week's news around crypto:
- Hackers steal $112 million of XRP Ripple cryptocurrency
- New Elaborate Coinbase Scam By Fellow Americans
- Binance Code and Internal Passwords Exposed on GitHub for Months
- Arrests in $400M SIM-Swap Tied to Heist at FTX?
- $6.5M Abracadabra Exploit Led to Magic Internet Money Stablecoin Depeg
- 50 000 BTC worth 2 billion euros are confiscated by German police in a piracy-related investigation
After hearing all these news one wonders where is the industry headed. It's really so easy to have your funds hacked or stolen from your crypto wallet, unless you're tech-savvy. And even if you have kept your wallet secure somehow, protocols get hacked. Most of them refund the users but its a long and painful process. I don't think there's going to be a real crypto revolution until the security landscape improves..
