PSA: Don't use the Brave content creator/Gemini workaround. They will ban your account and steal your BAT

There have been a bunch of posts and guides on how to use the content creator program to tip yourself and get your BAT into Gemini instead of Uphold floating around here for quite a while.

Just because BAT is a crypto does not mean that Brave isn't 100% centralized, controlled, and corporate.

I think the browser is cool and its a good idea and all but I'm dropping the Ad program. Not gonna stop using the browser because I like the features and it uses less ram on my system than most other browsers lol.. but I'm turning ads off and sold the stack of BAT I had purchased on exchange, It has no use case besides its service in the Brave ad program and I personally no longer feel comfortable holding a crypto with so much centralized control over its use.

Don't get me wrong, I don't blame them for banning me. I honestly looked through the guidelines and never found this page when I decided to try the workaround, I was probably being neglectful and rushing lol.. plus It's only $30 I lost (although that $30 was 6-7 months of earnings). That said, I can already see the future of curation and control that is the antithesis of crypto. I don't doubt there will come a day when who gets to earn or be tipped bat is heavily controlled as well. I don't see the project succeeding with this level of centralization over its sole use case. Again, not blaming them, it was my mistake and they own the Brave browser and can do what they want with it.
