PSA: Make sure you also securely store your 2 Factor Authenticator backup codes

Everyone knows to store your seed phrase, but also make sure you save a copy of your Authenticator backup codes.

I have a client that had hundreds of accounts connected to their one Google Authenticator app. When she got a new phone and wiped her old phone she was unable to recover access and now can’t login to any of these accounts because with Google Authenticator you have to use a backup code to regain access (it’s not tied to your Google account). This is SUPER important for Crypto as most exchanges/services require 2FA.

TLDR: Don’t be like my client. Make sure you securely store your backup codes or have a backup plan.
