In the Bitcoin white paper, there is this line:
"Businesses that receive frequent payments will probably still want to run their own nodes for more independent security and quicker verification."
I know that not many businesses accept bitcoin as payment, but I was trying to find modern examples of that. Do you know of businesses that run their own nodes, and if today it is beneficial for them, in the way that was intended by Satoshi at the time of writing the whitepaper?
Side note: I was reading the white paper for the third time, and I'm always amazed at how many answers to a lot of crypto questions are in it, and we - or at least I, tend to forget it.
