Question about receiving crypto

So someone is supposed to send me some money in crypto, they used USDT over the BNB(Binance Smart) Chain network. I gave them the address my Coinbase wallet said, and he showed me him sending it and the screenshots that it was under review and that it had been sent after, but its been a few hours and i still havent gotten it. I tried to look on Block Explorer the wallets address that i used to receive it, and the transaction isnt showing up. Should it show up if it has been sent on his end? I can give the wallet address it supposedly got sent to. I just want to make sure this guy sent me the money he said he did. Any tips or other options i have to verify he sent it?
