Question about voting with a node. How is a vote actually cast?

Bitcoin Reddit

More / Bitcoin Reddit 33 Views

I read about Marathon Digital mining an invalid block and that “the invalid Bitcoin block was rejected by other node operators.”

I’m not clear how an individual node operator, like myself, is actually voting on these blocks (or would vote on bigger things like hard and soft forks).

My node is just on, and running, and seemingly doing its own thing.

So, when would I personally have the option to say Yes or No to something in the blockchain, and how would I actually do that? Where does the “voting” come in?

Thank you for your help in increase my knowledge about Bitcoin, its operations, and running a node!
