Really digging this Coinbase card - Here’s what you need to know

I know people love to shit on coinbase and are going to tell me why I should use someone else but I use coinbase so I’m happy to use this card.

Just thought I’d share my experience with anyone who’s considering it.

It’s a debit card. So if you’re looking for a credit card, keep looking!

You get 4% crypto back in XLM OR 1% crypto back in BTC

IMO, it’s an obvious choice to take the XLM and then convert it if need be.

Here’s all you need to know. Once you get approved, you can link it to your Apple Pay. A few days later, you will receive it in the mail. Once you get the physical card you can activate it through the app.

I don’t use Apple Pay so I just waited for the physical card. Once you link the card, you can transfer in USD for USDC for no fee (remember, it’s a debit card) and then pay with that usdc for whatever you buy with your card and then reap those sweet sweet benefits.

Here’s something important: you can use your existing crypto holdings to to pay for stuff with your card.

HERES WHY YOU SHOULD NOT DO THAT: Let’s say I decide I wanna buy groceries and can only do so if I use my ethereum (I would never do this). Well coinbase will let you, BUT in order to do so they must sell it and you will get hit with that conversion fee.

Anyway, im happy with it overall. Im not one to collect airline miles, and I hate using credit cards. So I love this

Just to reiterate, I pay with preloaded USDC, claim my 4% in XLM, and then convert it to BTC and ETH.
