Reddit (*shudders) Influencers are on their way.

A lot of people think the moons trial is Reddit betting on crypto or whatever but to me it just makes sense that any new social media progression will be on blockchain or at least involve it in some capacity.

What Reddit is doing with moons and this sub is trialing what it looks like to distribute revenue to ALL CONTRIBUTORS.... not just the 0.1% that make it to a certain threshold on other places like Youtube, Twitch etc.

Makes sense if the rumours about an immenent IPO are true. They're building a proof of concept for paying their contributors like every other social media platform.

They're likely losing money from it right now but my prediction is they'll roll out this system Reddit wide and every large community that brings in millions of hours of user engagement will get their own token basically to pay their contributors.

I shudder at the thought of 'Reddit influencers' but it would be cool to see that cosplayer that's amazing get paid in Karma for doing a good job, or that CSGO smoke tips video get rewarded for the many hours they've put in to help their community.

TLDR: Moons is a trial for Reddit to see how revenue distribution works in a completely fair environment rewarding all contributors not just the top 0.1% like other social media platforms. This is Web3 people! Power to the community.
