Saw this video from BTC Sessions on reducing fees. https://youtu.be/5kNMJd-Ts2c?si=gicdCjej7hn-uZSc I DCA in Kraken and withdraw to my hardware wallet once I reach 1 million sats. I pay a fee of 20,000 sats. And I do this twice or thrice a month. Kraken also has lightning withdrawal, which is free. As per this video, I can reduce a good amount of fees by using lightning and liquid network. Steps below: Send 1 million sats to Phoenix wallet - first time a one time on chain fee of around 6000 sats. Once channel is opened, no fees for further transactions as long as it is within 1 million capacity. Phoenix fee to send sats is 0.4% which is 4000 sats for 1 million. Convert lightning sats to liquid BTC using Boltz. Network fee is 428 sats and Boltz fee is 2500 sats. Receive liquid BTC in sideswap. Sideswap conversation rate/peg out rate is 99.9% so a 0.1% fee for 1 million sats is 1000 sats. So first transaction, I spend 6000+4000+3000+1000 sats which is 14,000 sats. I also open up a big 1 million channel in Phoenix. From the second transaction onwards, the total fee is only 8000 sats (4000+3000+1000). Can this go wrong anywhere? Is it worth doing to save 36,000 sats every month (8k instead of 20k in fees and 3 transactions in a month)? [link] [comments] |
