Same seed phrase but different addresses?

I’ve never used Solana before, and wanted to jump in and check out the ecosystem to see if I wanted to start adding a bit to my portfolio. I have a handful of Multicoin wallets that I’ve played with on EVM chains (exodus, trust, coinbase wallet), but what I’ve noticed is that despite having the same 12 word seed they all have different Sol addresses. What’s the cause / reason behind this? Feels strange at a surface level that I need to know both my seed and my wallet software, but I’m probably missing something. Same thing happens with LTC fwiw, but I believe the that’s because they use different versions of chain addresses.
