Hey folks, currently a lot of institutions have been hoarding bitcoin like crazy. It seems that the crypto is primed to go mainstream. However, I think that the defi space has been lacking the presence of institutions especially from the Fortune 500 companies. The space has tremendous potential and heck, could even replicate certain financial products on the blockchain in a more transparent and efficient manner.
A 1% allocation from these institutions means that DeFi surges by a whopping $1T. However, what are really the problems plaguing these institutions?
To put it simply, DeFi lacks regulatory approval and since it's vital for institutions to be compliant (as Kevin O' Leary said, I've increased my bitcoin positions as regulators have started taking a more positive approach towards it, I can't afford to be non-compliant) it acts as a hinderance for them in doing so. Appropriate and clear regulations is exactly what they need.
