The government trying to exert their power of cryptocurrency and blockchains recently is pretty wild. Between the push for CBDC’s and now trying to force KYC on every single decentralized transaction, Monero is just constantly looking better and better.
However, I don’t claim to know everything about Monero. I know that it is privacy focused, providing anonymous (encrypted) transactions and that governments seem to hate it deeply. But what are the downsides to it? Are there any? I’m not interested in it appreciating in value necessarily (though that’s always a good thing), but what should prospective users be aware of?
