Selling underperfoming alts into ETH makes sense?

All Cryptocurrencies

by COINS NEWS 101 Views

I have a substantial amount of a coin which is probably dead.

I foolishly jumped the hype train at around the ATH and now it's down 90+%. Some DCA helped along the way and now I'm 'only' down 88%, but I don't know if this would ever recover.

I have some ETH and BTC as well, which are performing better fortunately.

My ETH avg is 2360, and I could sell the shitcoin for around 2200, and buy ETH with it. That would bring my ETH avg up to 4250-ish, which is a huge jump... But then again I see much more hope for ETH hitting the ATH again than this coin to do a 10x anytime soon... And I would have more than 8 ETH so I could spin up a RocketPool minipool on AllNodes or whatever.

What do you guys think?

EDIT:

Some people seems to be misunderstanding the question. I don't want to take out money and sell.

I made a 19k initial investment which is now worth 2k and I want to make this money back somehow. My biggest investment apart from this is in ETH and thats why I tought of DCAing into eth with 2k (which was originally 2k).
