Set up your crypto-recovery plan with your spouse TODAY (STORY)

Let’s be honest, most of us are males with wife’s who probably don’t even know what crypto is beyond “digital money”. I had a buddy just pass away in a freak accident and left his wife with a hardware wallet and 0 information outside of that. She is prompted with a PIN on the hardware wallet itself, which she has no way of guessing before it locks down. Additionally, he did not leave his seed anywhere to be found (or anywhere she knows) so she basically is 100% locked out of this account for good. End of story.

I sat down with my wife a few months ago and explained 100% of everything she needs to know to get access to my wallet. I guarantee you she remembers nothing of that conversation, so I also wrote down very detailed instructions on how to do everything. During that process, it dawned on me how difficult it actually is to work with crypto if you are not a “crypto bro”; sure it’s easy*** on the exchange , but once you go cold storage somebody will have to coach her who knows with my additional information (seed, etc) in order to receive any funds. Not to mention the validator I run on that second most popular network.
