In the 2017-2018 cycle/bullrun there was a crazy amount of new projects being launched as "ICO's" (Initial Coin Offerings, akin to regular companies "IPO's").

One of such, that was also shilled to me by a friend, was DENTACOIN. When this was suggested as an investment I called "bullshit" on the whole thing and cashed out everything.

Dentacoin launched and managed to get a marketcap of insane US$1,600,000,000.00. Yes, it got 1.6 billion dollars.

Here's what DENTACOIN claimed to be:

Dentacoin is a blockchain*-based solution for the global dental industry*. The platform is a secure blockchain infrastructure that aims to offer patient-centered care, improve long-term health, reduce costs and pain, and benefit all market participants. The core mission of Dentacoin is to enhance the quality of dental care globally, minimize the cost of every dental treatment, and build a community based on the dental industry.

The project claimed it's "blockchain solution" would "IMPROVE LONG-TERM HEALTH, REDUCE COSTS AND PAIN". This was peak 2017-2018 bubble speculation.

How the fuck can a "blockchain" improve anyone's health? How could it reduce pain?

• Today Dentacoin sits at a ridiculous 12 million dollars marketcap, representing a drop of over 99.5% in value.
• The official Youtube channel posted for the last time in february 2022 announcing a "staking program", not to be seen since.
• Their website is offline, returning a 404 error.
• Their whitepaper can't be accessed.
• Trading volume over the past 24h doesn't even get to US$100.00
• Whales hold over 98% of the supply because nobody else cares about this, and neither should you.

Imagine having invested any meaningful amount only to be left in the darkness of despair.
