I know some of them are paid shills, and some actually do research and try their best to inform people about different projects, good or bad. However, if they recommend a project that they have already invested in and get their followers to pump the price, how is that not considered market manipulation? What's to stop these influencers with a lot of followers from opening a leveraged position on a crypto they are about to recommend, letting their followers pump the coin and taking their profits?
Some of these influencers and YouTubers with a lot of followers know the influence they can have on the market, especially when recommending a low cap that is more volatile price wise and doing this pumps their own bags temporarily. Why did some people consider Elon's tweets about DOGE to be market manipulation, while these influencers get away with it on a daily basis? What's the difference?
