So, been stacking sats a while now. And there’s … an issue.

Back when it first came out, I was an early adopter of [that app with the retail UI] and used it for my first stock buys.

Then the buy button got turned off, and with lots of others, moved my stuff off. But kept my BTC and my other crypto on, mostly because… well, just because. Largely because I was intimidated by self-custody, but also because I was not interested in selling. Bought at $45k, $30k, $15k. Fast forward to a couple months ago and a ballooning balance. I started to feel Iike just no damn good reason not to self-custody, and every good reason to. So I got a cold card and went to move an amount. Not a big one, but not pennies, like $5k worth. The app sent me to the authenticator, which somehow bungled because I. Had not updated it before trying the move. Long story short, I was shut down, and my account restricted. Not even PCO, just … restricted.

I called them. I was asked what i intended to do with my holdings; did I consider myself a beginner, an intermediate, or advanced? Which wallet I was I going to use? And like that. This was a week after the restriction, and at the end of the call I was told my case would be reviewed and I’d have an answer in 24-28 business hours. Five days later, I called again, and they said they might need more information, and to wait a few days. It’s been a week, and while I desperately want to believe the app is just overdoing their risk management, I have this dread that my two and a half wholes may never see the light of my wallet.

Not my keys, all that. Of course. I’m embarrassed as fuck and it’s why I haven’t spoken up about this sooner. Meanwhile I have this empty cold card and .. damn I really do not want to lose these. Even if I have to sell through the app and re-buy. I’m sure you know the app; know that I know my foolishness and penchant for convenience has brought me to this place.

Does anyone have anything to offer that might help? I’m sick with it.
