I feel like it's not as often as it used to be, but from time to time there are still people on here claiming that crypto is the "biggest wealth transfer" ever. Finally, the small guy can be rich, taking money from the 1%!!
What I never understood with this narrative: how? The rich are more experienced traders. Most of them have probably been in crypto for a while and are better at making profits with it than most of us. If they are not in crypto, there is no wealth transfer either, as the rich just stay as rich as they are and the poor are transfering money between each other, some gaining and some losing money.
We have seen recently that very rich people can play the market and move it to their advantage. Now that Amazon is also seemingly getting into the game: does anyone still believe that there is any wealth transfer, except maybe from the poor to the rich, happening thanks to crypto?
Funnily enough, the only way I see a wealth transfer happening is via the thing this sub probably hates most (except from banks), taxes.
