Some of the Biggest Cases Between the SEC and Crypto

1. SEC vs Ripple: The SEC filed an action against Ripple Labs Inc alleging that they raised over $1.3 billion through an unregistered, ongoing securities offering--the XRP token. This case is still going on!
2. SEC vs BlockFi: The SEC charged BlockFi with failing to register its BlockFi Interest Accounts. BlockFi ended up paying $100 million in penalties and had to shut down the project! However, they are pursuing SEC registration.
3. SEC vs Binance: A new case, the SEC is investigating whether Binance’s BNB coin was a security at the time of their ICO back in 2017. If so, Binance could face steep penalties for failing to register the offering with the SEC!
