I was going to use a Bitcoin ATM, for the first time, to get a percentage of non-KYC bitcoin for fun and hodl’ing, but the only machine on the list for the Westside of this Australian city has been removed.
When I inquired at customer service, the young lady there just shook her head, like she was in the know about something, (I kinda felt like a criminal for even asking), and she gave me the standard answer she’d been told to give,
“It’s been removed.”
No further explanation as to why.
Feeling thwarted in my adventure for the day, I told her and the other lady there, to buy some Bitcoin, read about it, and something like “Viva la Bitcoin!” before I left them, as they were thinking I was nuts.???? They will probably remember me when Bitcoin hits the main headlines…????
I’m kinda tee’d off. I’m thinking that the removal of the ATM is preparation for more control in lead up to CBDC’s, and I’m too busy to take the time to go to the Eastside to see if they’ve been removed over there too….
Maybe it’s something more innocent, like the machine never had enough cash in it?
What do you all think? (Or know?????????????)
