Something crazy about MOONs…

Hi guys, So I've lived in Germany my whole life. As of right now, 1 MOON is around 0,3€. With the next MOONs distribution coming up, I'll probably get around 250 moons with my current karma, which would be around 75€.

Although this is more than I would have ever imagined to get for 'free' on reddit, it's by no means a large amount of money. (Yes I know it kinda depends on your situation, but for most people in Germany it's probably not a big deal).

Here's what recently hit me: So once a year I go on vacation in Turkey because I have a lot of relatives there.

1€ = 10 turkish lira (=TL) which is A LOT. For the 2-3 weeks I go there in a year, I can basically live like a king because my Euros are just worth so much. I should mention that in Germany I am a student with a part time job and earn a bit more than minimum wage, so you get the idea.

I recently put 2 and 2 together and realized that right now, 1 MOON = 3TL.

In Turkey, I can buy a large bottle of water and a freshly baked large loaf of bread for 1,5TL each. So with only ONE moon I can get both.

This is insane, and I couldn't stop thinking about this and other examples ever since.

For instance, the 75€ (give or take) worth of moons I'm gonna receive this month, would be around 750TL. If you don't have a large family or live on your own, this can easily pay your rent,water and electricity for the whole month. Insane. And this is only off of one comment I had that gained a lot of attention.

I imagine there are other countries where this is even more of an extreme case. Just something to think about.
