Sparrow Wallet Questions

Here’s my scenario —> running latest ubuntu; installed sparrow wallet; connected to yellow public electrum server; sparrow correctly showed transactions & balance from my account(s), installed Bitcoin core node; running truncated node; connected sparrow to Bitcoin-core; both running on same machine; sent sats from an exchange to the next address showing on sparrow; Tx clears on exchange w/ Tx ID; blockchain explorer shows wallet address has the number of sats I sent; transaction not showing up on sparrow wallet connected to bitcoin core; unconnected from bitcoin-core; connected to the yellow electrum public server; transaction goes through and shows up in my wallet. Why didn’t the transaction go through whilst I was connected to the bitcoin-core node on my machine?
