Storing my private keys in a bank safe feels so anti crypto

But its the best option I have today. Recovery wallets are still miles away from what I understand. and keeping my private keys stored at home in my safe with my guns just is not an option for me that will give me peace of mind. To be clear I store my private keys at 2 different bank locations. For a long time I had them at just one but thought what if the bank burns down or gets robbed? So I went to a second branch and secured a 2nd deposit box. I swear to you guys I sleep better at night.

The conflict I have is that I am a true believer of self sovereign and I aim to become as bankless as possible every month but there really isnt anything safer for storing private keys besides memorizing them. Great. What if I die or lose memory? Metal plates. What if it gets lost or stolen? Tattoos. Come one. That isn't going to work. So I was out of ideas and simply gave in to the bank option. It really bothers me because it goes against my beliefs but its All I got.

What do you guys do with your private keys? Has anything new popped up tech or creativity wise since I last read about this topic a year ago?
