TA is astrology?

I keep seeing on here that TA isn’t real. I just think there a massive misunderstanding. TA isn’t trying to predict the future, its about working out probabilities and when they are in your favour you enter a trade. With proper position sizing and risk/reward ratio if you are correct about the probability then it would be a +EV (expected value) decision over time.

TA is all about looking at data and forming a conclusion. What do you think a DCA strategy is? How do you know the market will go up, or even that DCA is a good strategy? Because you look at past data and project that into the future.

I have included a chart below. We are currently holding the POC (point of control) as resistance, that is a fact. Retail see this and they think ok its strong resistance because it has multiple touch points and it is holding as resistance but I see the opposite.

Resistance gets weaker the more times It is tapped. Now look at price action what is it telling us. We rejected harshly on the 29th of August off the POC, then recently came back up to test it again this time the reaction was a lot weaker leading into now where we are just straight up consolidating below the POC.

This tells me on balance of probabilities that we are going to break through the POC and head higher. Would I go long here? Hell no its way too late, the time to long was lower down. Proper trading is level to level so where is the next level, well the VAH of course. This is an area where I would be happy to look at shorts.

Closing thoughts: I think a lot of what you see on YouTube gives trading/TA a bad name. When you see someone say price could go up to 40k or down to 22k it just sounds like crap, and from these guys it is, they are talking way too high time frame, and not giving any weight/probability to an outcome.
