The amount of anti-NFT sentiment i see in other subreddits is flabbergasting.

All Cryptocurrencies

I just saw a post in gaming where stalkers 2 will not have NFT items and the comments are all... rejoicing?

Since when have gamers been okay with not owning tradable items? 10 years ago we were all bashing microtransactions saying "we don't even own the items" and now there's a technology that allows it and the community rejects it?

I feel like there is something fishy going on. Every time I try to defend immutable ownership people always tell me how I'm a blind speculator and NFTs are killing the earth.

I am just ranting because I'm passionate about blockchain and along with it, NFTs. Not crappy pictures or money laundering but the idea of transferable, immutable ownership of my online items.

The negative sentiment outside of the crypto subs is overwhelming and I am wondering why its so prominent? People associate NFTs with pictures and wasting energy, but why?

We are moving to a world where the individual has no ownership of their effects. You put your money in a bank, you rent your house, you lease your car, you lease your phone, you give your data to Facebook and reddit.

Its crazy in my opinion how people reject the idea of owning the items they earn or purchase.

Thanks for reading my rant.
