I've always wondered, in a bitcoin standard, how much would a sat be worth?
There's far too many conversions in USD happening in this sub, though eventually converting prices in USD will be akin to converting prices in Zimbabwean dollars: noone would do it, and it would not make any sense. This is also implying the dead of fiat currencies as we know them, but let's go further.
It's obvious that measuring value in bitcoins has the disatvange of having to use minuscule decimal numbers, so satoshis are what I believe will be used to define the monetary value of most things. Since there are 100 millions sats in a BTC, the total supply of satoshi is 2.1 quadrillions sats.
Now comes the tricky part, which is to calculate the value of all global assets. This number is highly dubious so take it with a grain of salt, but I've found that in 2021 a study claimed it was 520 trillions USD, which will be our reference point.
If we pretend to make a simple proportion and divide the total number of sats with this, the equivalency sits at roughly 4 sats per dollar.
In the US a dozen eggs cost about 4 USD, which means 16 sats per 12 eggs, or 1.33 sats per egg.
