The goal of bitcoin is to be an impenetrable and decentralized base layer digital asset, not to be legal tender.

This narrative needs to be flipped in the public sphere. "Bitcoin is just digital gold" is the most insanely dismissive statement. It's like saying the internet is just a fad.

We already have venmo, apple pay, paypal. We don't need more innovation in the layer 3/4 space... technology companies have already crushed building us intuitive and effective applications. More will be built, and networks like lightning will continue to be improved. Fiat can exist alongside bitcoin, centralized digital currencies can exist as layered applications on top of a bitcoin standard.

If translating some of my bitcoin to digital fiat allows me for instantaneous, secure & easy transactions then that's the preferred option.

Bitcoin is an energy network that allows for the storage and movement of energy on a decentralized blockchain across time & space (domain) that is maybe 1m times more effective at the fraction of a fraction of the cost than any energy storage and distribution networks. It's an order of magnitude more effective than any security, real estate, gold... anything you can own.

Bitcoin is a paradigm shift. What does a world look like where people can translate energy & value across time & space unfettered and directed by their will w/o concern for human hubris, war, bank failures, business failures, property taxes, regime changes. What happens when we can move $10b into Nigeria or South Sudan instantly without the approval of any state institution? What happens when individuals can store their energy in something that is guaranteed to be more valuable in the future with full control over it & detangled from centralized institutions?

This is the power of bitcoin, and the 'suddenly' part of gradually then suddenly will occur when institutions, governments and wealthy individuals realize this. Not when people start using bitcoin to buy coffee.

Actually, the narrative doesn't need to be flipped. It doesn't matter, bitcoin is inevitable & unstoppable.
