The Pizza Guy Story 2.0? In 2011 a person bought an Amazon Kindle for 60 BTC, worth $1.6M today.

We all know the almighty Pizza guy story in Crypto as one of the, or maybe even the, first transaction of Bitcoin for some other goods. On the 22nd of 2010 Laszlo Hanyecz, a programmer and Bitcoin miner, offered 10000 BTC for two pizzas, back then those 10k were worth just $41 but at the current price they would be worth $280M and at the ATH of $69k it is even a massive $690M. Anyways, it is the first known transaction of Bitcoin to other goods.

But now it seems like we may actually have a second one that we can also not ignore, though this one is nearly completely unknown.

Picture from Pete Rizzo Twitter, pretty reliable as he is an Editor at Bitcoin Magazine and even Kraken

Here we can see how 12 years ago, in 2011, a person bought an Amazon Kindle for 60 BTC, which back then was worth $21 and today is worth about $1.6M. It may not be the same dimensions as the Pizza Guy but it is indeed another fascinating story, of what I believe to be one of the greatest sacrifices to catalyse Crypto mass adoption.

It may be true that without such purchases we today would not be where we are with the Crypto industry, someone had to start Crypto adoption and those people did it. They are not failed investors but true pioneers.
