The problem with crypto.

The problem with crypto is that the entire cryptobro space can't seem to arrive at a consensus on whether it is a currency or an investible asset.

Its a currency:
It's a currency because the belief that it has value is what gives it value like the US dollar, except for the fact that the US dollar is backed by the US economy and the US government. It is a currency despite the massive volatility making it a shitty currency as a currency must be able to hold their value for a foreseeable future, a currency's value might change a few percentage every year cryptocurrencies do that on a daily basis

It is an investible asset:
An investible asset must always be backed by something, stocks are backed by the company, options by the underlying stock, futures by the commodity and even forex is backed by the government and economy. Cryptocurrency is backed by nothing but belief.
