The Reddit avatars are an example of why why Gamestops marketplace will succeed.

The issue with NFTs. Even collectible ones is that there are tons of scams. Most people know the "copy and paste" thing that people parrot isn't how they work. It is how they scam though. Looking at the Reddit NFT Avatars though on Opensea it's very apparent that a regulated (as much as people hate it) market place is necessary.

When Gamestops market place dropped there was an issue with a NFT game where someone used assets from someone else's game. Gamestop removed it from their market place. (You can check out the butt sub for the thread about negative volume) it was a good thing though. It showed that Gamestop can indeed combat copy rights and remove scams.

Opensea is a pure open market place. If you go now and type in Reddit avatar or Reddit snoo there are over 10+ profiles selling Reddit avatars with little to no way to see if it's legit or just a photo of one. Some are obvious I.E the ones worth 100$ selling for less than 5$.

It makes me feel like that in the future if NFTs are to be implemented in games that a regulated marketplace is the answer. Not arguing that regulating crypto should be a thing. Just the NFT side of things. I can only imagine the amount of scams when a big company implements them in the future.
