In the past year or so there have been a number of scams or rug pulls carried out by celebrities and influencers. Much of the fallout from that was swept under the rug as the markets were cooling off at the end of the last bull run. With the entire NFT market crashing there was little time in the community to hold many of these people accountable for shilling Shitcoins and NFT projects they had no intention of making succeed.
Now with many of these celebrities in the news again due to ongoing lawsuits involving many of these projects it’s time for the crypto community to hold them accountable.
The $400,000 fine that was shelled out to Jake Paul seems like a small drop out a very large bucket of money he made from his scams, the actual amount Jake made form Tron Foundation Limited is unknown but if it’s anything compared to the 1.2 million the his brother has agreed to pay about for the failed CryptoZoo project a $400,000 fine seems like an incredible return on investment for him if he made a couple million bucks in the meantime.
There are quite a few other examples of of celebrities using their platform to shill some dog-piss project to a bunch of crypto kids who are buying excuse they recognize the persons name. Examples:
Logan Paul Jake Paul Lana Rhoades Lindsay Lohan Soulja Boy
I think as a community we need to take a step back next time the markets start to get crazy and try and take a second look at who is trying to sell us shit wrapped in gold and we need to reanalyze why we trust celebrities with our money and investment decisions
