Hello, fellow Redditors.
One year ago, I took a dive that would make even the most daring cliff jumpers shudder. I plunged headfirst into the volatile world of cryptocurrency with a $50 000 loan. How stupid am I, right? I now know...
You can probably imagine the initial excitement I felt. I was finally going to make it big in crypto, or so I thought. I was all in, fueled by the crypto influencers I religiously followed on Twitter. Their success stories had me convinced I'd struck gold.
Fast forward to a few months later, my investment was going south and fast. My hopes were shattering along with the value of my portfolio, in the first couple of weeks I already lost 10k . It seemed like every tweet I followed led to a dead end or a further drop in value. Frustration became my daily companion.
You might wonder why I didn't cut my losses and run. Well, something in me held on, a tiny glimmer of hope that refused to die.
So, I decided to change my approach. I stopped following the big name influencers and started searching for smaller communities. That's how I stumbled upon DAOs, mainly CopycatDAO, and Gyoza.
I honestly feel that big name influencers are most of the time self promoting, their friends or in some cases their own projects. When I joined these small communities, I felt it's way more genuine.
I slowly began implementing the strategies I picked up from these communities, and the miracle of miracles, things started to turn around.
To my surprise, I saw my portfolio creep up from its rock bottom depths, and over the next few months, it kept growing. As of today, my investments are up 35%.
I'm considering closing my loan and continuing this journey with the profits. I won't lie, it's a tempting thought, but I'm going to take my time making this decision, just like I did when I switched my strategy.
For anyone out there who's had a rough start in the crypto world, my advice is, don't lose hope. Itβs not just about following the biggest influencers, the real value is in smaller communities.
Looking back, taking a huge loan to invest in crypto was an absurd risky move, and I don't recommend it to anyone. But somehow, with a bit of luck, a lot of perseverance, and the right guidance, I managed to pull myself out.
I'll be back with another update soon. Hopefully, my luck will not run out. And please don't judge me too much for this decision, these web3 influencers got me hooked bad.
