From a strategic standpoint, it makes sense for the US Government to accumulate Bitcoin. The two most credible currencies in the world, at scale, are likely the US dollar and Bitcoin. If we don't have a position and Bitcoin is adopted by many smaller countries first, it becomes possible the dollar could lose its position as the world reserve currency.
The situation the United States should want is for the dollar to be the last domino to fall while using the purchasing power of the dollar to eliminate the risk of the dollar being abandoned. We spend and waste money like it is water. Why not contribute toward and inevitable outcome and benefit from it at the same time?
Am I missing something? Is the US government secretly Satoshi Nakamoto?
