Crypto related scams are a dime a dozen and the media also attempts to blow up every single one of em so that these scams have become a major stumbling block for our progress.
The article above talks about how the Greater Manchester Police seized $5.4Mil of crypto from a scam that spannes the globe and are now returning it to the victims who come from places like Europe, China, Australia, HK, UK and the US.
Theres $10Mil more that they plan to recover still and distribute among the 150 or so victims.
I dont know how they did or how they located the victims but i assume having a permanent public ledger that keeps track of all expenses may have helped!
Seeing something like this amidst all the Canadian anti-crypto dicktatorship and Indian taxation issues gives me hope that it may indeed be possible to clamp down on crypto scams. Now if only the politicians would take note.
Does anyone know if the UK has any specific crypto protection laws or are crypto crimes regulated just like other financial crimes?
