Thoughts after being a member of both r/Buttcoin and r/cryptocurrency

I joined r/buttcoin so I could better understand the arguments against crypto and have a way to view unfavorable news on the topic. Boy is that an absolute cesspit.

I assumed it was full of other people who were at least educated in crypto enough to point out its flaws. Flaws/limitations in blockchain science or the economics of sit coins, what ever. Or people who have been in the space previously but don’t have a favorable opinion.

Instead r/Buttcoin celebrates the losses of other people. They simultaneously think cc is a scam and dumb yet relish in finding victims. Obviously r/CC has its flaws, but the environment and the community is positive and helpful. Every shortcoming in crypto and every scam or loss can be negated by the fact the cc community is extremely charitable.

Every flaw that has been pointed out on that sub is old news or and echo of another post. Or a link to a r/CC post. It would be a field day for psychological research. Why are these people trolling something they don’t care about so badly and so blindly?

R/cc should play the devils advocate for itself better. The media might not think we understand, but every BTC holder is a BTC hater at the same time.
