Thoughts on Gemini exchange?

With exchanges under attack by SEC and DOJ, although some may deserve it, is anyone looking at other US based exchanges to trade or purchase bitcoin? I've been using Gemini for a while but almost never hear it mentioned here. Is it not liked because of the winklevoss twins? Did I miss something along the way about why it isn't being mentioned more? Thanks
