Thoughts on node decentralization

Bit of a noob in the eth dev space but have been developing small projects here and there. I am fortunate enough to have the means to run a light Eth node at home (working on hardware for full sync) on a raspberry pi 4 but have noticed that most tutorials use Infura for access to mainnet and test networks. It seems like one of the biggest barriers to entry for most people is the up front cost associated with having a dedicated computer as a node, as well as the knowledge gap of installing ubuntu and that whole process of getting geth running. This seems like a fairly large issue going forward since AWS and Infura can/will control a large portion of the network. Has anyone thought about this issue and potential ways to combat this going forward? The company Avado sells "ready to go" eth nodes for $1000+ but that is not affordable enough for the average person at this time.
