Thoughts on watch only wallets through Blue Wallet

I am needing to receive BTC into my cold storage wallet without having access to the hardware device itself since I am traveling and dont wanna carry around the device.

I looked into watch only wallets since they seem to offer the functionality I need, to be able to receive into my cold storage wallet without being able to send from it. I am wanting to be able to create new addresses for each receive transaction in the same way that my hardware wallet creates a new address every time I want to receive BTC into it.

So in order to do this I looked into Blue Wallet as an option. I couldnt find a lot of info on it but it seems the main security concern is privacy. By sharing my public key with Blue Wallet they will forever have the transaction info of that wallet, and info on new addresses I send or receive to and from.

What are your guys' thoughts on this, or do you have any other suggestion for receiving safely into my cold storage without having the actual device on me while I travel?
