Thinking about the security of pow networks that is generally perceived as very strong. I came across one issue though on which I do not find info on.
Top 3 btc Mining pools hold more than 50% of the hash rate - could a single entity take over the btc network when simultaneously & successfully hacking these pools as - at least according to my understanding - each pool relies on the same software within the the pool?
Issue is especially relevant in the context of increasing cyber security threads :
