Twitter is used by private defense contractors with machine learning algorithms to manipulate public narrative construction for powerful multinational corporations, private equity, banks, oligarchs, and intelligence agencies in the west. It is fed purposefully misleading information to destroy activism and garner public opinion, to divide and conquer.

If you don't start using things like Siacoin/Skynet to decentralize the front ends of your back end smart contract based social media and building social media on Web3 that can't be siezed or taken down, and you don't do this to take radical ownership of your metadata and data, you're going to slowly lose your freedom of speech.
