Unable to transfer unstaked crypto due to gas fees, need advice

I am trying to transfer my unstaked crypto back to my wallet and I’m dealing with ridiculous gas fees and need options.

I bought $20 in ether from Coinbase today and despite CB saying the fee was 0, I lost $12.5 from ether gas fees when CB transferred the ether to my wallet. I used that ether to unstake my crypto. Now, I want to transfer my crypto from the staking site back to my wallet. I’m being quoted $152 in gas fees to transfer the unstaked crypto back to my wallet. I would need to buy another ~$200-$300 in ether from CB, accounting for a loss of ~ $50-$90 in ether gas fees just to have $152 to transfer my crypto back to my wallet. I can’t afford to lose 200 in fees. Are there any ways to save on gas fees? I know Matic is supposed to help with gas fees, is there a way for me to use Matic to save money? What are my options? Feeling frustrated at the way ether has me just throwing money away.

Looking for advice
