There was a smug tweet about family men being 100% in bitcoin and I found the unquestionable conviction totally alarming.
It does not matter if you are 100% certain of what will happen, you never go 100% when you have people who are financially dependent on you. NEVER.
NEVER NEVER NEVER DO THAT.
I don't care if bitcoin goes to a million dollars tomorrow, I don't care if you are right. Someone can screenshot this post when btc hits 100k and call me a loser.
I'm specifically talking about over-allocation that puts unnecessary risk on loved ones, If you don't understand this risk then you are blinded by greed.
The simple truth is that there's still a chance something bad can happen.
I love bitcoin, I am over-allocated because I dont have people that depend on me. I have trouble conceptualizing a bearish scenario for the next three years.
I'm bullish but if bitcoin has taught me anything it is risk management and to not be greedy.
What happens if you wake up tomorrow and [insert unlikely event] happens causing a 90% drop in price and it stays there for a decade? You going to explain to your kids why they are destitute? What about the financial strain on your marriage?
Don't tell me what can or can't happen!
There are no certainties, only probabilities.
You don't know the future! That is the nature of risk and being 100% all-in is reckless.
