US citizens should be concerned as patriots

Just thought this issue should be come at from a different angle.

But instead of being scared the US banning bitcoin is going to hurt bitcoin, I think re-framing it a bit would be better suited for an actual political approach.

Right now the US is in the process of dumping what should be considered the start of its bitcoin reserves.

It is a kind of desperate attempt along with the new legislation to save the dollar.

The thing is crypto is an inevitable technology. Maybe it will stagnate for a few years. But it will not stop. And it is kind of irresponsible for the country to not atleast hedge against the idea the dollar will remain supreme as the economies of the world become more decentralized and global.

To desperately hang on to the old system kicking and screaming as it goes under is only going to worsen the situation in the future for the US.

I believe convincing politicians of the potential harm for the country should be a priority now. Not as a bitcoin lover, but as someone who actually thinks in many ways the US is still an amazing diverse and innovative country. The really easy thing to do as a start is stop selling the silk road stash and just consider it a hedge against the chance they might be wrong. Then begin a kind of education campaign aimed towards politicians and voters that speaks to the future and utility in having a fundamentally fair digital currency.

This is a bit of an unorgainzed thought chain, but the point is... I see many people afraid for crypto and bitcoin in regards to new legislations. Coinbase may move to the UK even. Our arguments should not be made out of this fear. They should be made out of our love for the country and the desire to see it flourish along with the exponential technological growth humanity is going through. Thats all. Bitcoin doesnt need the US as much as the US needs bitcoin. And the politicians need to be educated from this perspective.
