Just wanted to offer a troubleshooting tip in case you ever have this happen to you.
Yesterday a new update for the Reddit app was released so I installed it on my iOS device. When I opened the app, I noticed that the menu item for Vault was missing and I had no way to access my moons. I did some searching and found threads from others who've also experienced this. Another Redditor suggested I try the link https://reddit.com/community-points/ but to my confusion, that just tried to walk me through setting up a new vault.
I wasn't sweating too much because I still have the seed phrase for my vault, but this was getting annoying. Finally, I discovered a fix on my own and wanted to share with everyone in case this happens to anyone else. Here are the iOS steps that worked for me (not sure if it works for Android.)
- Open r/CC in a regular browser and attempt to tip someone moons (the amount doesn't matter, 1 will work.)
- When the message "Continue with your Reddit Vault on mobile" appears, look for the link reading "Didnβt receive a push notification or werenβt able to complete it?" and click this. A QR code will appear.
- Scan the QR code with your iOS device. This will ask if you want to access the link in the Reddit app. Click the message to open the link in the app.
- When the Reddit app opens the vault link, it should now recognize your vault again and restore the menu option. You can now cancel the tip. It's not necessary to complete it.
Hope that helps out anyone who finds themselves stuck with this issue.
