This Russian-Canadian developer believes that, if fees were lowered, "soul" tokens, account abstraction, social recovery wallets, the ENS domain service, Ethereum logins, Proof of Humanity and reputation systems could grow.
At a recent AMA (Ask Me Anything) session at the Ethereum Foundation, Buterin stressed that Proto-Danksharding's EIP-4844 along with the growth of second-layer solutions such as rollups will make fees cheaper. For him, "many of these applications have been too expensive for years" but, with the drop in fees, they become viable projects.
He also pointed to the growth of cryptocurrency-based online stores, such as the growth of the recent Exeno, and looks forward to its services and those to come.
