Your friends and family are doing the ice bucket challenge ; you are enjoying your new iPhone 6 - and your hear about a coin based on a dog meme called dogecoin.

You join the subreddit and say hello and you are tipped 500 dogecoin by some generous shibe and they show you how to create your own wallet to hold the dogecoin.

Suddenly you are in the world of cryptocurrency - but here's the thing... The price isn't much to brag about but the community was blossoming and thriving.

So much was done in that time - from the 98 dogecar, to the Jamaican bobsled team and people from all over the world coming together as a community and spreading the word of dogecoin.

Flash forward - people have made their money - the whales have squeezed it dry and the original dev has abandoned it.

The community seems to have migrated to blue bird and has certainly lost the spirit it once had.
