Hearing Entitled: Oversight of the Securities and Exchange Commission.
SEC Chair Gary Gensler is scheduled to appear before the House Financial Services Committee A bipartisan group of four committee members - two from each party - sent Gary a sternly worded letter today urging him to approve spot Bitcoin ETFs from Blackrock, Fidelity, and Grayscale ASAP. The pressure is building, and today could be a crucial moment in this matter.
They had told Gensler there was “no reason to continue to deny” spot crypto ETF applications following the Grayscale court decision " A regulated spot bitcoin ETP would provide increased protection for investors by making access to bitcoin safer and more transparent,” said the letter. “Congress has a duty to ensure the SEC approves investment products that meet the requirements set out by Congress.”
