We need media to be honest about crypto and not chasing spectacular news and half-baked + one-sided journalism

I cannot blame the average Joe to distrust crypto as I, myself, was thinking bad about it, too. All this is mainly the fault of the mainstream media.

Bad for the environment, pollution, high energy consumption, useless ugly monkey pictures dropping -95% in price, exchange bankrupcies leaving millions of customers losing a lot of money, crypto scams, hacks and ponzis...these make great breaking news headlines.

Even in this sub, people are posting many crypto "negative" news from websites, most of them are just blatant misinformations or misleading.

How crypto helps the unbanked, many 3rd world people using it to save themselves from hyperinflating currency and using it for daily transactions, decentralized "money/store of value" that nobody alone controls and no unlimited minting, validating ownership which is unforgeable...these facts never comes to light when you listen to mainstream media.

What crypto really needs isn't a better image, it just need a honest media covering the whole range of crypto, not just the negative sides (which is definitely has), but also all the positive sides it has.
