We're living in the New Gold Rush, and the new gold is crypto

I like this comparison a lot. The last decade has had a lot of that vibe.

In 1848 a scarce and desirable resource, gold, suddenly became obtainable to regular people who were willing to put in extra effort. Not only rich folks could get richer, average Joe could also try and make his fortune, in large part, due to lagging regulations.

It was on everyone's lips, dangerous af, there were lots of FUD, but even more enthusiasm. In relative terms, gold was still cheap in comparison with what it gained in value over the next century.

It is insane to look back at the time when anyone could go and dig up gold. For those who lived nearby, it was practically free.

You see how a lot of things compare to the age of cryptocurrencies? I'm not speaking about all cryptocurrencies — not all that glitters is gold.

And what boosts my belief in this comparison even more is this one thing I keep hearing from no-coiners:

If it was so precious, it wouldn't be as easy to obtain! If that was true there would be too many rich people! This is too good to be true.
