What are some of the mistakes you have done in crypto?

Although I have been owning crypto since before the last bull run, I have never really interacted with crypto in a technical sense. Blockchain, smart contracts, etc. All these words sound foreign to me even though I have heard it about a thousand times. Most, if not all of my crypto assets, are in CEXs (relatively secure ones). Therefore, I would really like to start learning about it and actually interact with it.

I would like to ask you guys if you have made some mistakes when interacting with crypto. Be it with gas fees or interacting with shady contracts. Please tell your story and help me and other newbies out there to avoid the same.
